Concrete Pour, Waterproofing, Pagodas, Parking & More
Dear Mayfair Lane residents,
We have updates for you:
Concrete Pouring & Waterproofing
This week, contractors have been installing rebar in preparation for the concrete pour. The concrete pour for the middle and back sections was scheduled to happen today and tomorrow, with pouring to possibly occur early next week, as well. It will take approximately 5-10 days for this concrete to cure. TRM estimates that waterproofing on the upper Lane will begin around September 28.
IT IS CRITICAL YOU DO NOT WALK ON THE UPPER LANE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Although it may appear that the concrete is set, IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOU TO WALK ON IT.
Further, if the waterproofing membrane is damaged in any way, its waterproofing purpose will be nullified, causing costly repairs.
Therefore, even if you notice the protective barriers removed from the upper Lane, ENTERING THE UPPER LANE IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Fieldstone, Plumbing & Painting
While the concrete cures, plumbers will return to Mayfair Lane to do further work on the drainage. The PVC pipes will be replaced with a new drainage system. Painters will then paint the underside of the Lane.
Contractors will install fieldstone following the waterproofing.
Pagoda Light Fixtures
The two pagoda light fixtures in the middle section — because of the way they are situated — make it impossible to apply the waterproofing membrane to that section. Therefore, contractors are temporarily removing them. They will be handling them with extreme care, as these fixtures are deteriorating. (If the fixtures are damaged in the moving process, we will explore options to replace them in kind.)
Parking
Parking is still prohibited until further notice — especially during the concrete pouring process, as it will be messy, and cars will hinder contractors’ work.
Contractors’ Equipment
Please do not touch, tamper with, or unplug the contractors’ tools or equipment. If you see equipment plugged into a power socket after construction hours, this is because the equipment needs to recharge overnight. Tampering with their equipment can cause unwanted delays to the project.
Thank you, everyone, for your patience and flexibility as work continues!
Respectfully,
Your Mayfair Lane Board
