Vote on Fieldstone; No Labor Day Meeting; Retrieve Bins; More

August 31, 2023

Dear Mayfair Lane residents,

We have updates for you:

Bring Trash/Recycling Bins to Homes

If you have been storing your trash or recycling bins in either of the front vomitories, please bring them back to your homes. (There’s easier access to homes with the construction mesh gone, so it’s no longer necessary to store bins in the vomitories.) Storing recycling bins at the front is no longer viable because passersby have been using the bins inappropriately and tossing non-recyclables in and around them.

Vote on Fieldstone Samples

We now have samples of the fieldstone for the upper Lane! Homeowners: We need your input on which fieldstone option you’d like to see on the walkway. To view photos of all three samples and vote on which sample you prefer, visit the poll now.

Each household can vote once. Please vote by Saturday night (9/2/23). We will provide poll results next week.

If you’d like to examine the samples in person, you can find them on the lower landing of the front staircase — on the even-numbered side.

All three types of stone are sourced from a location in northwest Pennsylvania, and they should all have the same amount of traction when wet. (The traction should be similar to the traction offered by the original stone that was on the Lane.)

No Meeting on September 4

Although the Board usually holds meetings for all residents about repair updates every Monday at 7:30 p.m., there will not be a meeting on Labor Day (September 4).

Lane Repair

Steel contractors are continuing repairs. Concrete contractors are installing the concrete forms for the concrete pouring. TRM estimates September 11 as the date to begin concrete pouring. They estimate September 25 as the date to begin underside painting and topside waterproofing.

Unless it’s an emergency, do not enter any section of the upper Lane. Parking is still prohibited on the lower Lane. Neighbors who need accommodations can contact our Construction Manager, Lou, using contact info in the email sent on August 31.

Minutes

We’ve uploaded minutes from two recent Board meetings. Read them now »

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during the restoration project.

Respectfully,
Your Mayfair Lane Board
