Garbage & Plowing Update
A message from the chair of the Maintenance Committee:
Hope each of you safely and warmly weathered the storm.
Just a couple updates regarding maintenance:
1) Snow Plowing: I am working with the snow plowing service (Regan Landscape) to address their lack of contracted support over the past few days. Given the ferocity and duration of the storm along with this being the first snow of the season and with Regan being new to Mayfair Lane, I expected a few hiccups, however, there were more than a few.
2) Garbage Closet: The garbage closet is small and barely holds six large garbage totes. Given that there are 21 households sharing this space, we need to be mindful when disposing of large and multiple items, such as boxes, etc.
— Boxes need to be properly broken down: When they are, they easily fit in the space between the east wall (left wall) and the totes. There simply is not the room to accommodate unbroken-down boxes, especially large ones;
— Large quantity of waste materials: If your waste material is going to usurp two, three or more of the garbage totes at one time (example of such can be seen right now in the garbage closet), then common sense dictates that you hold the material at your home until Tuesday when you can place it directly on North Street along with the rest of our garbage. Since we 21 neighbors share a very limited size garbage closet, we need to be cognizant not to overburden the space and negatively affect our neighbors.
3) A huge THANK YOU to all the neighbors who pitched in and shoveled during the storm. You know who you are. 👍
Thanks for caring!
