To Prevent Pipes From Freezing ...

A bathroom sink is mounted on a bathroom vanity

December 25, 2022

Dear Mayfair Lane residents,

We’d like to pass along some advice that was given to a Board member by a contractor who often performs maintenance on Mayfair Lane homes and on the Lane itself.

He said: If you have concerns about pipes freezing — and if your sinks are mounted on kitchen cabinets/bathroom vanities — you should open the doors of these cabinets/vanities to expose the pipes to warmer air.

Also, if you want to try to prevent your pipes from freezing, you can slowly drip water from each of your faucets — a slow and steady trickle. The goal is for water to move through the pipes consistently. (Let the faucet drip until temperatures are above freezing.)

We’re hoping everyone and their loved ones are safe.

Respectfully,
Your Mayfair Lane Board
