Do Not Walk on the Back-Third Section of the Upper Lane
Dear Mayfair Lane residents,
Alert: Please avoid walking on the back-third section of the upper Lane. TRM has reported a weak spot in the concrete. Today, between #19 and #20, the concrete crumbled beneath a construction worker’s leg as he undertook his work. Thankfully, this worker is relatively unharmed, but there is now a hole in the flooring of the upper Lane. TRM has bolstered this hole for safety (there’s wood atop and beneath the hole), and it is thought to be surrounded by stronger concrete. Still, it is important that you do not walk on the back-third section of the upper Lane. Also, please avoid walking down the center of the lower Lane during construction hours. If possible, stay on the lower Lane’s sidewalks or walk near the cars.
Regarding cars: At this time, cars on the east side of the lane (the odd numbers) do not need to be moved; parking is allowed on that side. As a reminder, at this time there is no parking on the west side of the lane (the even side) during the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., including weekends.
Timeline update: Garden-pit emptying and flagstone removal on the back-third section of the Lane is expected to be complete by the end of the week. The subcontractors will then proceed with garden-pit emptying and flagstone removal on the middle section of the Lane; that process should take approximately two weeks to complete. TRM reports that the hole in the concrete will not delay the project by too many days. Although subcontractors will need to execute hand-work near the recently opened hole (instead of using their excavator), this should only delay the project by a few days.
As always, safety is the top priority of TRM and Mayfair Lane. Thanks for your cooperation.
Respectfully,
Your Mayfair Lane Board
