Advisory: Car Break-Ins Are on the Rise

A door lock in a car

December 19, 2022

Dear all Mayfair Lane homeowners and residents,

Please be aware: Multiple cars have been broken into on the lower Lane within the past ten days or so. It seems the perpetrator(s) visit often, looking/testing for an unlocked car.

We’re very sorry to hear that residents have had their belongings stolen.

To prevent future incidents, let's all:

  • ensure that car doors are locked when parked — especially during nighttime hours

  • refrain from leaving anything of value inside cars (or if it's necessary to leave these items in the car, put them in a place where they're not visible)

Please feel free to reach out to Board members if we can be of any assistance.

Also, in the spirit of neighborliness, let’s all safeguard the security of one another. If you notice that your neighbor’s garage door seems to have been accidentally left open — or if you see neighbors’ packages sitting out for long periods — reach out to them and let them know. 🕊

Respectfully,
Your Mayfair Lane Board
